Delete your Tokarea account

Delete the account and associated data from the app or request it from Support.

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Tokarea provides an in-app deletion flow and an external route for people who no longer have access to the app. Both cover the technical account and its associated data; temporarily disabling the account is not used as a substitute for deletion.

If you cannot open Tokarea, use the button below to email support@tokarea.com. The message is pre-filled so that you can initiate the request without reinstalling the app or using a form.

Request account deletion by email

Delete it directly in Tokarea

Open Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my account. The same Privacy and data screen is available from the start screen when no group is open. Tokarea first shows which shared groups will continue and which groups with no other account will be deleted, then asks for final confirmation.

The in-app flow removes the remote account and then clears the groups, pending changes, session and account-linked settings from that device. The selected visual appearance remains because it contains no account or group identifier.

Request deletion when you cannot access the app

Email support@tokarea.com using the action on this page. Include the technical UUID reference shown in Privacy and data if you kept it. A linked email address or sign-in method and a PRV-… or TKR-… reference may also help. Do not include the complete JSON export, an invitation code, password or unnecessary information about other people. Tokarea may request the minimum additional information needed to verify that the request relates to the affected account.

If the account was anonymous, was never protected with Apple, Google or email, and you no longer have the session, UUID reference or a PRV-… or TKR-… reference, it may be impossible to locate it or safely verify that it belongs to you. A nickname or group code is not sufficient and will not be used to delete another account.

Tokarea will respond without undue delay and in any event within one month. Where necessary because of the complexity or number of requests, this may be extended by up to two further months; the reason and extension will be communicated within the first month.

Data deleted or anonymised

  • The technical account, credentials, sessions, linked sign-in methods, memberships, preferences, notification token, legal acceptances and Tokarea Pro entitlement linked to the account.
  • Messages, chores, shopping items and activity that Tokarea can technically attribute to that account; related photos that are no longer needed enter the private deletion queue.
  • Groups and active-service content where no other account has access. In shared groups, the selected identity is detached and shown as “Deleted participant”.
  • Authorship links, attributable free-text bonus notes and personal details in privacy or moderation records, subject to the limited records described below.

Data retained and current periods

  • Shared expenses and payments retain their accounting effect, date, amount and teams with a generic description and no authorship link, so deletion does not alter other people’s balances. Ranking movements and necessary numerical history may likewise remain without that link.
  • A shared group’s name, structure, teams and the identities of other people remain while that group is active. Older shared rows whose authorship cannot be established may remain without technical attribution to the deleted account.
  • Ordinary encrypted photos can be delivered for up to 30 days after preparation. At the deadline, or earlier if removed, their encrypted content and unnecessary cryptographic metadata enter asynchronous physical deletion; a failed deletion leaves the file inaccessible and queued for retry.
  • Notification delivery records may remain for up to 90 days. A separate sanitised image supplied as evidence for a report enters the deletion queue 90 days after that case closes.
  • A random retry key with no user identifier or content is retained for seven days. Privacy requests leave only an opaque receipt after account deletion. Support, complaint, security, fraud-prevention, accounting or legal records remain only for as long as needed to document and meet the relevant responsibility or obligation.
  • Provider backups and operational logs may not be removed immediately. They remain outside ordinary use under the providers’ documented cycles, and deletion continues to apply if a backup is restored.

Cancel store subscriptions separately

Deleting your Tokarea account or uninstalling Tokarea does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play before deleting the account if you do not want future renewals.

The same applies to an Apple App Store subscription: deleting the account or app does not cancel it, and it must be managed separately in the Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation prevents future renewals and does not by itself refund a period already paid.
